Immigration law changes bode ill for job-starved SA economy

The long-awaited amendments to the Immigration Act have ‘happened’. Both the 2007 and 2011 amendments, along with a wholly revised set of regulations, were promulgated on May 23 and came into effect on May 26. But are these the long-awaited panacea sought by long-suffering human resource directors and an economy starved of entrepreneurs and jobs created by small businesses?
